Miami Dolphins: No Apology Necessary, Nick Saban
Hey Chris---get a grip. Saban handled himself as badly as could be expected. Shula was quoted as saying, "He (Saban) hasn't done anything he said he would."
I am sure you have a circle of friends that may agree---or even listen to your explanation of why you harbor no ill feelings. I don't think any of them are here thought. You sound like a Jets fan!!!

Take it from Howard Stern
When Howard doesn't want to answer a question he tells his producer or lackeys' to say: No comment, no comment, no comment. That's what Saban should have done at least until after the season was over. Speculation by the media would have stayed just that until he eventually left for Alabama. Saban's ego wouldn't let him not say anything. I mean have you ever really listened to the guy? I really think he believes that when he speaks most people really care about what he says, imo.

No, I'm a Dolphins fan that's thinking rationally.

Saban tried to not talk about it. That didn't work, the media persisted. At that point, the only thing to do was try to end it, even with a lie.
Mr.
I'm not angry cause he left, I'm not angry cause he lied. I knew it was going to happen. My problem comes from how he handled the situation after the season. Saban had, by far, the largest staff in the NFL and couldn't even tell them to their faces that he was leaving. He never called or spoke to anyone before he left. As I recall, he said he would have a press conference the following afternoon, yet still wouldn't tell Wayne Huizinga what his intentions were. Wayne showed up at his house as he was walking out the door and Saban informed him he was taking the job and on his way to the airport right then. No meetings, no press conference, just a I'll talk to you in the afternoon and slipped away in the morning. Huizinga gave him everything highest-paid coach/GM, let him choose his free agents and draft picks and Saban gave him the finger. You wanna go? Go! But go with dignity and show respect to the people who deserve it.

Saban did the right thing?
Have to disagree on this one for several reasons. First, let me say the guy was a complete jerk to those working for and around him. Secondly, there are many answers he could have given to deflect the situation without directly lying. For example, I am under contract with the Miami Dolphins, and at this point in time I have nothing I can add other then to say like everyone else, at seasons end we'll review where we are and where we'd like to be and the best way to get there. Right now our focus is exactly that. Getting this team prepared for the next 6 games, and making sure we have every advantage we can have. This subject is a distraction to myself, and my team and I will not address my personal issues during the season. As of this moment my thought process is to remain with the Dolphins and Wayne H. Next question...
